Keynote Speakers

The following are the keynote speakers who have confirmed their attendance to the conference.

Dr Jeff Bezemer is Reader in Communication and Co-Director of the Centre for Multimodal Research at UCL Institute of Education, London UK. He is interested in advancing theories and practical applications of multimodality in the domains of clinical communication and education. His latest books include Introducing Multimodality (with Carey Jewitt and Kay O’Halloran) and Multimodality, Learning and Communication: A Social Semiotic Frame (with Gunther Kress).
Dr. Tomáš Petrů is a Senior Research Fellow at the Oriental Institute of the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague, Czechia, where he also serves as the Chair of the Council of the Institute. Previously, he coordinated the establishment of the Department of Asian Studies at Metropolitan University Prague, which he headed from 2009 until 2014. In his research, Dr Petrů focuses on the interaction of politics, society and religion in Indonesia and Malaysia. In addition to that, he has a passion for ethno-history and historical linguistics of Insular Southeast Asia.
Dr. Deny A. Kwary is the head of the English Department, Faculty of Humanities, Airlangga University, Indonesia. He is also the Indonesian language manager of Oxford Global Languages, Oxford University Press, University of Oxford, UK. He holds a PhD in lexicography from Aarhus University, Denmark, and was a research fellow at the University of Birmingham, UK.
